Course Content | The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an important qualification for anyone working in teaching. It is suitable for those already in education, who want to gain formal recognition of their skills, and for those with no teaching experience.
Formerly known as PTLLS, the Award in Education and Training is a short course designed to enable a wide range of students to undertake teaching, training or learning tasks relevant to their own training or teaching situation. It is recommended for all teachers new to the sector, whether in further education, adult and community learning, work-based learning or other parts of the learning and skills sector. |
Course Details | The course is run over 5 days from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm |
Entry Requirements | Students must be 19 years or over and should have at least Level 3 (i.e. A-Level/BTEC) equivalent qualification in the subject they wish to teach and level 2 of English, Numeracy and IT |

Assessment | There is no formal exam. Students must complete 3 written assignments and 15-minute 1 microteaching session |
Certification | Edexcel (Pearson) or NCFE Level 3 Diploma |
Progression | Either level 4 or level 5 Certificate in Education and or CELTA for Teaching English Language to Adults
Trainees can move to become teachers in adult and community education Teachers or trainers in the voluntary sector Training personnel in commerce, industry, the public sector or HM Forces Technicians and support staff in further and adult education |
